This background has been crucial to the style of photography he does; a cinematic look applied to imagery with psychological significance, and a great emphasis on dramatic lighting as well as Photoshop composites. His passion for the latter has led him to learn 3D modeling and animation with Cinema4D to take his skills further and be able to combine the best of both worlds.
Mikel worked as a digital artist for the BBC in London for two years before taking the leap to the advertising industry, which happened after a period of freelancing that finished by signing a contract with Taylor James Ltd., the renowned post-production studio that gave him the opportunity to work with the best in the industry as well, including stints in their N.Y.C. and L.A. studios, where he oversaw retouching projects and directed photographers in the photo-shoot to ensure the proper integration of the material at the later stage in Photoshop.
Mikel is now freelancing remotely as well as in-house when required, traveling from his hometown in Spain to wherever a good digital artist is needed.
